Medical Negligence
Siobhan is experienced in a wide range of personal injury claims including road accidents, occupiers’ liability, and accidents at work. Siobhan has also handled a broad range of clinical negligence cases, covering all aspects of medical care. Siobhan has experience of settling cases though mediation.
Her cases range from the high value and complex cases where claimants have suffered a devastating injury and will require long-term care to improve their quality of life, to the more straightforward cases where clients have suffered a more minor injury which nevertheless has a huge impact on their day-to-day lives.
Her key cases include:
- £550,000 for a man who suffered an above knee amputation when a hospital failed to perform vascular surgery appropriately.
- £100,000 for a man who suffered a serious leg injury following an accident at work while operating a lathe machine.
- £200,000 for a man who suffered a serious injury to his arm when a hospital failed to diagnose the onset of compartment syndrome in a timely manner and treat the condition with appropriate surgery.
- £60,000 for the family of someone who died from the asbestos-related lung disease mesothelioma.
- Substantial compensation for a claimant in a complex and heavily contested work-related stress claim.
Siobhan lectures on related topics, including accidents in the workplace and current Health & Safety legislation.
She is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, Action against Medical Accidents and the head injuries charity Headway. She is an evening volunteer at the Mary Ward Legal Centre in London’s Holborn and on the panel of solicitors for the Irish Survivors Group.
Siobhan has been a solicitor since 2001, having studied law at the University of East Anglia.
